Sunset Beach (Hat Pramong) is a small cove on the western side of Koh Lipe, tucked between rocky headlands and reached by a short path through the trees. It faces the open sea and the silhouettes of Koh Adang and Koh Rawi, so the sun sinks right in front of you on clear evenings.
There is little development: a couple of bamboo bars, a few bungalows and a shallow reef. It is the place to end the day with a cold drink and your feet in the sand.
Top things to do at Sunset Beach, Koh Lipe
Sundowners on the sand
Arrive half an hour before sunset to get a seat at one of the beach bars. On a clear evening the sky turns gold, then pink, over the islands.
Snorkel the rocks
The rocky edges of the cove have some coral and fish in calm conditions. It is shallow — keep off the coral.
Catch the sunset from a boat instead
Several trips, including the 8-island sunset odyssey and the late half-day snorkel, finish on the water at sunset.
