Koh Rawi lies west of Koh Adang and is the second-largest island of the Adang–Rawi group. Like Adang it is covered in forest and protected as part of the national park; there is no village, just a ranger post and beaches that see nobody but the passing longtails.
Its shoreline is a string of white sandbars and small bays with reefs just offshore. The best-known beach, Hat Sai Khao (“white sand beach”), has a park campsite, and the sheltered bays between Rawi and the smaller islands nearby are favourite snorkelling stops.
Top things to do at Koh Rawi
Snorkel the Rawi reefs
Hard and soft corals, anemones with clownfish and schools of reef fish. Most full-day trips, including the 7-island day, include at least one stop here.
Lunch on an empty beach
Many longer tours stop for a picnic lunch on one of Rawi’s beaches. Take your rubbish back to the boat.

How to get to Koh Rawi
- From Koh Lipe: about 20–30 minutes by longtail. Almost everybody visits on an island-hopping tour or a chartered private boat.
Insider tips
- Rawi falls inside the national park’s seasonal closure; outside the high season, boats may only run to a few sheltered spots.
- Currents between the islands can be strong — snorkel with a buoyancy vest and stay close to the boat.
